AI answer verification
How to verify AI answers before you rely on them
Verification is more than asking a second model. A reliable check separates claims from conclusions, finds the source behind each important claim, and records what remains uncertain.
Start with claims that could change your decision
Identify the numbers, dates, legal or medical statements, product availability, and causal claims that carry the most consequence.
Use model comparison as an early-warning system
Different answers reveal ambiguity, missing context, and possible hallucinations. Matching answers can reveal common ground, but matching language is not independent confirmation.
Check the evidence trail
Open the cited source, confirm that it actually supports the claim, inspect its date and scope, and prefer original documentation or primary research when available.
- Verify quotations in context.
- Check publication and update dates.
- Separate reporting from opinion.
- Record unanswered questions and evidence gaps.
